Bert Aperloo graduated with a Master of Fine Art and Design (printmaking) at the Tasmanian School of Art in 2010.

His preferred print mediums are woodcut and dry-point and his prints range from accurate monochromatic representations to colourful multi-layered abstracts of botanical images. Artworks are based on extensive research that links personal experiences with contemporary art perspectives.

Trained initially as a draftsman, Bert grew up in Holland, moved to South Africa and later migrated to Australia. After several years in Melbourne he now resides in Hobart. He has had three solo exhibitions and been involved in several group exhibitions.

Currently he is the president of Hunter Island Press, an artist-run printmaking development facility.
